SLED ISLAND 2019

Since 2007, Sled Island's thoughtful, eclectic programming and independent spirit have produced a one-of-a-kind festival experience. Each June, the five-day music and arts festival brings together a community of more than 250 bands, comedy, film and art as well as over 30,000 attendees in more than 30 venues, earning rave reviews from attendees, artists and media across the globe.

The #KingEddyYYC is happy to host Sled Island 2019 events Wednesday - Saturday.

About lié:
Shut up, get back and hold on. These three things are what you will gladly agree to when the well-measured muscle of lié comes banging down your door. The three-piece punk band operates only above gale force, like a jackhammer in a hurry to blast its way down to hell.

About Bonnie Doon:
When surf sounds like doom and the party takes a paranoid turn, you’re more than likely in the presence of Bonnie Doon. The quintet makes a kind of post-punk that sounds like a puddle of ooze curdling in the hot summer sun. Their music is grim yet energetic, like a fog machine exploding due an electrical short.

About Blessed:
Blessed have a knack for wearing their influences on their sleeve while still remaining fiercely original. The quintet quilts together post-punk, post-hardcore and krautrock influences into a propulsive pastiche of pointed guitars and pummeling drums.

About Death Bells:
This six-piece post-punk act should feel right at home after their recent move from Sydney to LA. Their textural, gloom-laden style shares a certain morose romance with other bands of the region, and vocalist William Canning’s juxtaposed snarl allows the band to stand out against their more stoic peers.
